Brunch for Breast Cancer
On October 12, Ete founder Jessica Willamson hosted a Brunch for Breast Cancer to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation during breast cancer awareness month.
The cause is close to Jessica's heart, with both her grandmother and mother being diagnosed with breast cancer.
“One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime so it’s important we bring awareness to the disease and remind women to get checked,’’ she said.
The event was held at Studio 8 in Perth with the venue being transformed into a pink wonderland, with the help of several local businesses.
Guests were greeted to an Aloe Vera shot and raffle ticket on arrival, then spent the morning enjoying an array of nibbles, sweets and drinks.
The event also featured entertainment with performances from Perth Musician Ezereve and live fashion drawing from Australian Illustrator Cassandra Anderson.
Throughout the day guests were invited to take part in raffles for prizes such as spa treatments, homeware, gifts and vouchers, with approximately half of those in attendance going home with a prize.
Jess said the event received overwhelming support from other Australian businesses.
“So many local brands have supported the event and its cause through their contributions of prizes and services,” she said.
“We’ve also had some donations from brands Go-To Skincare and Sofi Spritz which has been amazing.”

Each attendee took home a goodie bag at the end of the event filled with gifts worth over $80.
Thanks to the generosity of guests and businesses, the Brunch for Breast Cancer event raised $4056 with full proceeds going to the McGrath Foundation.
